Would like to share this photo I took in Hokkaido. This lake translated from japanese 砂湯means "Hot Sand Lake". As winter is very cold in Siberia, these beautiful Siberian Swans would fly to Hokkaido during winter.

I feel this lake was well named as you can actually see steam rising from the sand.

I was in hokkaido during winter too, but i never saw so many swans...prolly cos the water frozen?

Saw many skaters though..

We visited Hokkaido in feb 6 - 12 this year. It was really freezing! Perhaps we were fortunate to see that many swans There was another place called tokachigawa where they have swans too, but can't compare to the beauty of 砂湯.
