    DSLR with old lens.

Second that. For example the D40 would not be compatible. I am using the same lens with my D80. No problems, decent PQ, especially at that price (ZERO!).

    Benro Tripods? Are they good?

I saw the same review, and bought a manfrotto 486RC2 ball head to go with my Benro C-158n6 legs. Think it is a great balance between a decent price/weight and performance.

    50mm 1.4 sharpness

The following is what I do with my 50mm 1.4 as a strictly amateur photographer of my own children - the more professional guys on this forum would probably flip at some of my suggestions :bsmilie: My philosophy is that the expression/action I miss will never come back, given the pace at which...

    Tsukiji Fish Market

Are you still in Tokyo? Try getting there around 5:30 to 6AM in the morning, then go ALL the way inside to some of the big warehouse complexes. Ask your way to the tuna auction, and you'll see a couple of hundred of these lying around and some of the most animated auctioning this side of Asia...

    Zurich

Hi I! You're totally right! Was too eager to get the detail in the dark bronze doors, so the wall was over exposed. My attempt to balance the walls resulted in darkish blurred details on the doors, so I chose this once instead. Totally due to my lack of skills, but am still trying to...

    Zurich

Here is the first shot from a day's walk around Zurich - and my personal favourite. A bronze cast of Rodin's life work, 'The Gates of Hell' as displayed at the entrance of Kunsthaus Zurich. Do take note of what is probably his most famous work, 'The Thinker' in the upper third occupying a...

    question about 18-200mm vr

another thing - read on another forum (think it was dpreview) that UV filters decreases the effectiveness of the VR - I changed to NC filters just in case.

    Upgrade my 18-55mm kit lens...

Have an old 20-35mm F2.8 - works well for me. Think someone's selling it in the buy/sell, or you could check with TCW

    Manfrotto VS Benro

I would strongly suggest that you find a way to hold both the c158 and A158 in hand to compare. If you look at the specs for the C and M series, the 158 is always a little bit (40-50g) heavier than the 157, but the specs for the A series says the A158 is 230g LIGHTER than the A157 - this is...

    Manfrotto VS Benro

If it helps...I got the following combo at TK: Benro C158 tripod + Manfrotto 486RC2 ballhead Total damage: $440 I was choosing between the Benro C158 and C157 but decided on the 4-section as the folded size was smaller. The Manfrotto 'mag carbon' ones were just too big and heavy, and the...
