i just got mine recently too. to my eyes, shots are sharp. maybe you would like to elaborate 1) more. blur shots? handheld? maybe you can try taking with a tripod. if still blur den i think something is wrong. it could also be due to wrong focus? i'm not sure.. i'm just speculating. do try...

used to have the old non HSM sigma 24-70. It is sharp. but imo, the CA is quite jialat. not sure if the new HSM one have better optics. just my 2 cents worth.

the f3.5 is a newer lens compared to the f4-5.6. f3.5 is a constant aperture through 10mm to 20mm whereas the older one is not. aperture number increases with the zoom from 10mm to 20mm. for example, f3.5 at 10mm. when you zoom to 20mm, f3.5 does not change. as for f4-5.6, f4 at 10mm. when...

is your 18-70mm restricting in anyway? if the kit lens is doing fine for you den like what rodel said. got money den buy. you must know the reason for getting a new lens.
