"Suppose to" is very subjective. If you look at the official Canon MTF curves, the 17-40 to me definitely has a advantage compared to the 16-35 optically. The only advantage the 16-35 has is the 1 stop and additional 1mm wide. Both are good, depends on your needs. For all you know, the guy...

So what do you all reckon? Repair or just keep it as a museum piece? I do not have any dire needs of a MF camera now, but would very much like to use it in the future. Is it worth $440 to repair it?

I know $440 can get me a 2nd body + some additional accessories if I am lucky. Dilemma now. Anyway, shutter is not firing, something in the body needs to be replaced. 2 lenses are quite dusty internally with I think some fogging. AE finder like not bright enough but still useable. Oh...

Based on techanical data, the 135 f2L is one of the sharpest lens with good solid bokeh performance in the canon lens line. The f2 will definitely improve your indoor lowlight shots and its the only one currently below f2.8 in the telephoto range. JUST BUY LAH. At most you can always sell to...

1 month? Thats a long time. Anyway, I've just got a quote for the repairs to mine. $440 to replace part &fix shutter, clean my 2 lens and AE finder. Is this reasonable?

Looking at the MTF charts of the EF-S 17-55mm. It is definitely holding up to both 17-40mm & 16-35mm. Not too shabby I reckon. Take a good look at this. Compared to this (17-40mm)

Would like to know too. Interested at the Sigma 8mm fisheye as well. However looking at the MTF charts, the 8mm looks better.:think:

If I guess correctly, the different plates can be placed at different angles on the head. For the RC2, only one direction, forward. The RC0 ,if I am not wrong is hexagonal, therefore you can place it at multiple interval angles of 60 deg. ;)

Strap alone is sufficient. Unless of course you are going abroad for a trip. TK prices are quite reasonable. Got this from there at around $25. They have a grey one if you don't happen to be a fan of green. They've got the generic 055/190 strap as well.

Thanks for your comments R32..;) Nothing conclusive but I do read up quite a fair bit on F1 racing, and based on my observations, a majority of F1 shots taken aperature wise are at the smaller end. Would a shallow DOF be too much for race car? Besides its seldom you get poor lightning...

That's one of the reasons I'm hoping to stay away from lenses that are too "specialised". Something versatile and not solely for this event. Then again who knows where this interest might take me to. No buying photos, just beats the whole point of even picking up photography in the first...

Very nice pictures, however on my screen looks a little under exposed.;p
