    Panning bike

I have tried this type of shot ( but with a horse ) and know how hard it is to pan smoothly at the correct speed. Haven't tried it with "Live View", which would probably make it easier. If your intention was to convey a sense of fun & speed then this shot works for me. Good shot.

    Calibrate sigma lens

Yes. The whole point is that the lens needs to be matched to your camera body. Change body = recalibrate lens.

Changi Beach On Sunset. View it now!

Very good colour saturation. You exposed your shots perfectly. Look up "rule of thirds" regarding composition. As a guideline never have half sky + half land. Make it 1/3 + 2/3 or vice versa and see how much of a difference that makes ( you could even try cropping the shots that way ).

    Insurance

I have just discvered that, unlike the UK where I'm from, local household insurance policies do not cover items carried outside the home. That effectively means my camera ( and bike ) are not insured because they are also excluded from my Travel insurance, because I'm not travelling, I live...

newbies interested in macro - aquatic life

For aquarium shots get some black cloth ( matt rather than shiny silk ). Make a hole in the middle for your lens to go through and keep in place with elastic band. Fix edges of cloth to tank with gaffer tape. Also recommend getting an extention cable for the flash so you can place flash to the...

Universal Rain Cover for backpacks and should bags where get em'

I have never found a truly waterproof bag for cameras, at least not for the kind of tropical downpour that you get here in Singapore ! Most seem to just be "shower proof" which is just not adequate for several thousand dollars of kit. Try looking at Dry Bags as used by boat owners. These are...
