The Caveat Emptor message has the same background as with other sections here, eg. Buy & Sell. Make sure you know exactly what is provided, do not make any assumptions or create hopes of what might happen. Clarify with the organizer if you have questions. There must be a clear "Yes/No" answer as to what is included and delivered.
Example: postings states that there is a model, some lighting setup. That could mean that you have to manage / direct the model, setup the light and arrange everything by yourself. If you don't know what to do, you could hope somebody else will know and you just snap along with the others. Whether this is meaningful to you - your call. If in doubt, clarify.
In other words: organizers are facilitators of an event, bringing together people, model, location, equipment. Unless it's stated, that does not mean they are photographers. For some people that's fine, others might want to get more guidance, teaching. So you need to decide what you want / need from such a photo shoot.
