Newbie - Square Filter for 77mm Lens

Dear All

I do more landscape photography and new to square filter, looking to explore this,

could anyone recommend me, how should i approach this for a newbie?

Basically i did quite abit of reading before deciding to get myself into this but i think its not enough. i have no1 around me use a square filter.

please share with me your experience.

i had already read them but not from CS. its available on some website.

i am quite clear but is there any brand or package offered from Hitech or others that newbie could start off with.

need some recomenmendation from ppl here.

I think TK Foto might have a bundle price for Hi-tech filters. Or alternatively, do seriously consider Photosphere's Haida slot in filters. I use both as well as Lee and I can safely say the Haida filters are very good value for money. I dare say even on par with Lee filters for quality and definitely cheaper than Lee. Not a huge range of graduated nd filters though they have full ND filters.

Photosphere does regular filter demos. You can check out their sub forum here. Think they have an upcoming demo session next Thursday.

I am not in any way related to photosphere. Just sharing what little I know.

Try not to have a dependency attitude but I think this is being human or KS.You have different needs
from other people so how can a one size fit all advice help you.It depends on how you see your images,whether from a technical or perfectionist angle or being a cheapo.Nothing wrong but know what
you are getting yourself into.

First arm yourself with the correct knowledge or information which you seem to have done.Go online
and do your research,whether to find the best or the cheap and good filters.Read and see other people's experience and reviews.

Have you understood the term NEUTRAL? So how neutral is one filter from another? Fret not if you use a cheap filter and you got a not so neutral or colour cast in your photo as you can PP to some extent.Below are links that help you understand more.Note that some branded filter are also made in china.From what I have read Tiffen is good but expensive but don't take my word for it as it depends on what you want ultimately and can afford or see it as an investment to make great pictures.Surely
after all your efforts you don't want to end up with photos you don't like or have.

Don't mention it. Perhaps attend one of the demo sessions conducted by photosphere to better understand your own needs first?
