1. in what area is critique to be sought?

Personally quite happy with the composition of the photo. I have made sure that no buildings where being cut away and minimize vertical distortion of the buildings. Hope to have more advise how can I better improve the composition of the picture. This is a HDR photo. I have cropped off the front of the pictures to "lessen the trees" so that the focus will be at the structure in the background.

2. what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?

I have made sure that no buildings where being cut away and no vertical distortion of the buildings. And hope to capture the nice gradient in the picture.

3. under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)

Taken around 720pm at night.

4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture

I am quite pleased with the composition.

Thanks all for the comments. Appreciate.

might be tempted to crop away some of the sky too. this would make a great panorama.

Hi,

Thanks for the comments. Have cropped part of the sky away. Hope it looks better now.

oO nice. I like this one. It was taken at a good time, and the colors are really nice.

I think the composition could be slightly better. There's a bit too much sky, and the Supertree on the right, is too near the edge of the picture. Might need to use a slightly wider angle. I don't really like the way the clouds look, but well.. can't be helped!

The second one is nicer :)

I like the composition and the clouds. Rather than having a sky with a few clouds nor none :)

May we know from which location were the pics taken? They were well taken for a start.

Hi thanks for liking this pic. Its taken from the bridge from mbs to garden by the bay. Kind of crowded. U might need to go early to find a good spot :)

Sorry but how do you get to the bridge, from MBS? Thnaks

Yes from mbs hotel. The bridge also links from shoppes area.

nice shot! i think the second better, though can still save the first one for putting some captions at the top depending on how you want to present it

if really want to nitpick, as others pointed out, leave a bit of space at the sides
and since it's a HDR shot, not sure if you could have extracted more detail from the foreground cos now quite a bit of 'black' space, and maybe enhance the details in the clouds

keep shooting! And thanks for sharing :)

Actually, this is not a bad HDR attempt and is quite good. HDR suppose to give a higher dynamic compare to a normal process photo. For this shot and IMO, some details can be a little more in shadow contrast and of course space between the left and right of the frame can be a little more. Pano crop will also help in the composition.

Just a quick example:

Let me know to remove or delete it.

Hi thanks for the comments. How do you do this pana crop? I realised there is more spaces at the side in the pic you posted. Thanks :) look nicer now.

Hi, I just simply crop off the top which is not interesting unless there are nice motion clouds or formation at the top. On the right frame, I just make a clone out of it and extend it to simply show an example of space and when the next time you shoot, you will have a better idea. More shooting and practice will be good... Enjoy.
