Heard the rumour will be confirmed by this week, along w some new lenses (including one lens which a lot people have been asking/waiting for) and roadmap ;) Lets see what Pentax got for us in the Dragon Year :)

Please make a version of the tokina 11-16 II a cheaper one please or a cheaper 16-50 no star nevermind at least good glass will do

a small size super telephoto to cover 150-500? something that would not attract as much attention as a bigma and a 2x af TC to go with it. being a sports photographer, thats what i have been looking for.

Looks like a cup of coffee or glass of Tiger beer may loosen your defences and let us know right now what that "rumour" is about :)

I say let's all chip in a dollar to get heads up on the 'rumour'

As long as it has a built-in VF, whether optical or electronic, else it's a no go for me.

If not built-in, it better has optional to attach one, and also not leech as much blood as the Ricoh GRD's..

=)

Shall we meet for a beer session tonight boss ?

they're a pretty bunch :bsmilie: i just read that section for fun.

will be eagerly awaiting the official news :)

Many dinosaurs that can't see past their old style cameras or 1st dslr, after which everything else is in non conformance to their 'exacting standards.

12-35 WR or the 11-16 ... or a DA 135?

I always thought the most wanted lens is the 'beauty maker' 85/1.4 :D
There are so many that I'd want :

24/2.x or 28/2.x
85/1.4
135/2 or 1.8
500/5.6

Then there are the cheap 28/50/85 f2 for ppl with lower budgets.

Lets see what is announced, but I always have faith that FW with his wide Pentax contacts and actually relationship with local distro is far better informed than any armchair theorist on PF.

一种米养千种人 :bsmilie: i agree with your assessment but that doesn't mean i don't find it amusing.

the diversity of views is an indication that the pentax user base over there is very passionate and yearn to see pentax develop really great products.

"great" of course, means different things to different people. as you said once, as many opinions as there are asses... :bsmilie:

Here's hoping for more WR lenses and hopefully the K0-1 is WR as well and have improve AF and higher FPS.

Interestingly, you've just listed out the Sony A-mount Zeiss line-up. They have 24/2 85/1.4 and 135/1.8 all with almost perfect sharpness. Can get PDAF on NEX with LA-EA2 adapter :)

Hope it will do well for you then.

i've always wondered... what do ppl use 24/28mm lenses for? indoor halfbody/full body shots? to me its kinda awkward FL.. too narrow for landscapes, too wide for portraits without distortion. :dunno:

I feel a little nostalgia reading about the K-01 as I've just sold $8,000 worth of Pentax equipment, having moved to NEX. If Pentax had come out with this earlier, I would probably never have moved.

However, I still have the KX, FA77, DA40, Tamron 90 and Sigma 8-16 in K-mount. Now, it looks like I'll sell the KX once the K-01 is officially announced and plough my now bulging bank account into the K-01 to use it with my remaining lenses.

The trigger point for me selling off my Pentax equipment came about 2 months ago, when I acquired a M-Mount Zeiss 35mm F2 lens and adapted it to my NEX 5N. At that point I was content to mostly use the 5N with my adapted Pentax lenses and the K5 for more (but rare) demanding situations. The Zeiss blew me away. Portraits just popped off the screen with super sharp resolution and the backgroup dropped dramatically into blur creating more 3D effect that I have ever seen... and the Zeiss was cheaper (bought in the U.S.) than my FA31. Both my FA31 and DA40 are really sharp lenses, but don't give me that look that I now like. The FA77 has some of that look and I'm glad I still have it. So I sold off most of my Pentax equipment to fund more Zeiss and perhaps Leica lenses. The NEX 5N and Zeiss 35mm also look and feel very elegant and are very balanced, rivalling the snazziest looking Olympus M4/3 setups (don't even talk about Panasonic).

There is now a 90%+ probability I will buy the K-01. My only dream now is that it would look like the Pentax ME/MX film SLR series in chrome and black. I would happily pay up to S$2,000 for such a body.
