105 days Europe Adventure

Very very very very very very very awesome... I think I can add a lot more verys to that again!
Not a day of bad weather? Looks so cold to be out there!

hey bro, thanks so much for your 'very x 100' encouraging comment!
Had one or two rainy days there but generally quite lucky with the weather. The coldness is still manageable as long the wind stays low.

Makes me wanna travel.

thanks bro, good to know the photos are doing their job. ;)

truly inspiring work!

just glad to know my work are appreciated in the forum and thanks for your generous compliments.

Thanks for subscribing. All single-exposure jpegs, no PP done except noise reduction for aurora shots only as noise control for 450D not up to task.

Aurora Borealis doesn't always come in defined curtain-like or wavy shape seen earlier, as in this case, she appeared as a formless entity splashing across the entire pastel-colored sky adorned with a streaking meteor.

#36 Kjølen, Lofoten.

Beneath the melting snow of the snow capped mountains hides an array of icy clear water streams, the source of the mirror lakes congregated at the foot of the mountains.

this piece is worthy of joining some photo competitions.

Fresh flowers and berries were starting to emerge from the rocks everywhere, harmonizing the transformation of the cold rocky mountains into a lush green enveloped landscape.

This piece is one of very few that stood out from the rest as the composition was done in an unorthodox way in the sense I've placed the context of the scene in the foreground instead of the usual background. Doesn't work well often but glad it did for this one.

I think this one still got some room for improvement to be worthy for competition but appreciate your compliments. :)

I like the color matching of this piece. The RED goes very well with GREEN.

hi Billy, thanks for dropping in with your comments.

you shared my thoughts exactly, this one no doubt is a duo-color play balancing against a neutral setting with a simple composition.

#40 The contact sheet of all the Lofoten images in the thread to bring a closure to this chapter..

Been silently following this thread, but after looking at this whole contact sheet of all the images you've shown us, I feel I must comment to give my compliments to the artist behind these great works!

Just curious, how did you manage to get such rich and strong colours without any PP? Do you have any presets within the camera that bumps up the saturation or contrast? Or is it the masterful use of filters?

Hi Lingkang, thanks for your encouraging comments.

The quality of light present at the time of shooting is the single most important factor to achieve the resultant images, something you can't add in PP. With that, the appropriate use of the filters will allow one to fully incorporate that essence into the composition. The use of picture style (for canon) is merely the icing on the cake.

The same scene under different lighting condition, sometimes only minutes away, paints a vastly contrasting picture. Patience plays a big part and it is crucial to have that filter knowledge ready in order to harvest that opportunity shall it arises, sometimes unexpectedly.

Hope you will enjoy the images to come.

#41 Isle of Eigg, Inner Hebrides.
Ok, I know this is already on the front page of the thread but I would still love to kick start the Scotland chapter with this image, taken at Isle of Eigg, one of my favorites from Scotland.
