because i already know a little about what the iPhone5 has to offer... and i xD know the tentative launch period... so i'm not too keen on waiting that long... plus the only update i suppose would be ability to use the 4G network

xperia arc. :)

 one of the reasons. the only gripe is whether those fun games on the iPhone would be available on it.

Nah, just get a HTC :bsmilie:

I don't quite like the lack of updates for the original Xperia X10 or whatever that was. Not sure how committed they will be to update the Android OS when a new one comes out. I'm also not sure how "open" Sony is, but HTC always releases their source for Android phones so it's much easier for developers to come up with custom ROMs or whatever for the HTC phones. If you don't want all those custom stuff, then still, go with HTC because they seem to be the only company that actually cares about updating the OS for their Android phones. That's if you want an Android phone. If you don't want to worry about custom ROMs and don't want to ever worry about OS updates, iPhone is still the best, as all their iPhones receive updates.

Get the Arc. I have an iPhone 4 from work and my personal phone is the X10, and I prefer the usability of the X10 any day. I'm also waiting for the Arc. The Silver looks chio.

The reason for the lack of updates was because mediascape was too deeply hooked in the OS. SE has removed that and promised regular, faster updates for the Arc.

HTC doesn't release their code - they are just easy to root. HTC has in fact sued people who tried to copy their code (like for the SenseUI interface elements).

HTC Android updates have been slow as well.

As for iPhone4 OS updates, they have bricked phones, caused phones to become unstable, get excessively hot, caused apps to stop working, etc. So it's not all gold over in 1984.

Agree, they are slow, but they're not like Samsung, where some phones just get neglected and they only update 1 phone. Also, I think they do release their source, just not for Sense UI. Samsung doesn't release their source for my phone, and developers have to build their own drivers like video drivers and sound drivers, which is just ridiculous.

No matter what, easy to root > hard to root. Cmon, Android is supposed to be open source, what's with restricting root permissions. HTC does it right, Motorola doesn't know what they're doing, and the companies who make it hard to root their phones are also companies you should never buy an Android phone from.

i have both the iPhone 4 as well as the latest HTC Desire HD.
The HD won almost all of the aspects (OS,) and features except user-friendlier. I would advise you to take the iPhone, wont go wrong. It's faster, it's friendly, it doesnt lag or hang, etc...

5 will be out only around June!

Xperia Arc!!!!!!

crap. should have set up a poll. darn.
ignoring all people who said "both!"

ok votes so far:

Xperia Arc: 3
iPhone 4: 3

this is getting tough

Go for Arc if you like to feel that the phone belongs to you exclusively only.

Android phones offer so much customization compared to iphone which locks everyone to the same look and interface...

You want to buy a phone based on others opinion ah?

actually no. HAHA. i've used an android phone before. MOTOROLA. and hated it. iPhone's more for fun and games...

this vote is to see who would actually get the ARC

ok votes so far:

Xperia Arc: 4
iPhone 4: 3

like in real life, sometimes we fell for 2 girls (eg: one good in bed, the other good to show off), love both equally, but need to marry one, so boh pien, need to ask for others' opinion, then make the final decision to marry one :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

Aiya... Like that have fun lo... Me not interested in this kind of game.

Though, for me, if I going to buy something, I would 1st list down what I want and budget. From here, choose the option that suit my needs. I don't buy something just because it is popular, because it is not about what is popular, is about what you want.
