Canon 60D vs 7D vs 5D vs wallet size! :P

Sometime I think is the fps and the flexibility to arrange the "k" value. Unlike 500d only can choose between diff mode, cloudy, daylight etc.

Shoot in RAW. Problem solved. :)

:) then use photoshop and lightroom?

Or just lightroom, or just photoshop. If you have both then use both. Or just use the Canon software on the CD.

:) 10-22 mm have been on my list for long time!

Just another question. I was thinking to try out convertor for Marco shot. Is there a big difference b/w a convertor and Marco lens?

Thanks

By "convertor" do you mean extension tube? If so, an extension tube is the alternative way of doing macro. You can use an ordinary lens with the extension tube and get some decent photos. I have never used one so I cannot attest to its quality. They are very cheap. You will not lose too much if you decide to sell them on B&S.

Here's a couple of YouTube videos that will explain a little more about extension tubes:

Macro lenses will offer the best quality. Only problem is that they are more expensive. The EFS 60 macro is probably the cheapest and it is a good quality lens with high IQ. You can also combine extension tubes and macro lens together for an even more close-up photo.

Here is a link to a review of the 60mm macro lens:

Now I know what you mean... sorry sometimes it takes me a while....

A converter is something that you put on the front of your camera to give it more reach, wide angle abilities or macro abilities.... right? There is definitely a trade-off when using these.... loss of light and loss of IQ. I bought one of these years ago when I first started photography and it sits in a bag with hardly any use. I think that getting a Kenko extension tube would be a cheaper and better alternative.

Do I do group outing?.... I would love to.... but you may find it a little difficult to get to where I am.... Toronto. I am hoping to come back to Singapore in the summer. In the meantime, good luck. ;)

Yup heard of kenko convertor. Cost around 200 bucks. Loss of light can be help with speedlite. What's IQ stand for?

Oh you are overseas! I see alright! Have fun!

Oh man, still tempted to get 7D! But seriously, what does the 19 AF point really helps?

And I do print out my photos Sometime A4,A3. A higher megapixel would be better right? Cause mine is 15.1 now

IQ=Image quality

As for higher MP, if you are only printing A4 or A3, then even a 10MP camera is more than enough unless you do a lot of cropping. 15MP is more than enough IMHO.

Additional element in front of the lens affect affect IQ (Image Quality). 15.1MP is more than enuff for A4/A3 print.

Anyway to TS if you die die must buy another camera, do consider the 5Dc. I believe it will serve what you need very well. I sold my 60D for this and never once regretted. It suits my needs better.

How?

Because it is a FF camera and you feel better knowing that there's something bigger inside?

Would be good if you share the actual practical value..

As a quick note, FF camera needs good FF lenses to maximize the potential of FF.

so much that i wanted a 7D, its a want and not a need. shall invest in UWA lens and marco lens! :) haha get over BBB!

Will upgrade to full frame next time. when my skills are uppp!
Thanks guys!

Hi there everyone!

would appreciate for all your pro advice! :)

Wanna upgrade my camera recently, but do not know which one to get!
Current kit includes Canon: 500D, 50mm f1.8 lens, 18-200mm lens, Ex 430II speedlite

I mostly take portraits/studio shot/food shot. and i wanna go into marco and landscape soon. Read info on full frame/ Crop sensor, still cant decide which one to get!

7d review is not bad, but 60D is quite good also, 5D is good but too ex! out of budget for now! All the reviews and test field are making me go X.X! I NEED HELP!

And what lens is best for full frame sensor/ Crop sensor?

Maybe your could give some good advice! ;)
Thanks in advance!

P.S hope to get my new chosen camera before CNY! :D

5D now cost about 3.5k? Any deals for good second hand set?

Based on TS need, the FF camera will most likely suit her better. She is not going for sports and wild life. I won't say I upgraded, because some may feel the 60D and 7D better. I changed my system to FF because I take mostly portraits and landscape. As a user of both the 60D and the 5Dc, all I can say is that the final output on the 5Dc is so much better for the same subject matter. I have not used 7D before, so I did not comment on it.

As for your last sentence, it may be true for the 5DII. I don't know as I never use 5DII before. However, with the 5Dc, you do not need expensive lenses at all. I managed to take some wonderful pictures with the nifty-fifty f1.8. In fact I like it so much that I am going to print big prints and frame them up at home. It perform differently when that lens was used on the 60D, so bad that I thought of selling it away. Now, the nifty-fifty is one of my favourite lens on the 5Dc.

Do you realise that the flagship cameras of Canon and Nikon are full frame cameras (or at least, 1.3x), and are catered towards sports photography with versions with high FPS?

5D classic and 5D II, what is the difference? Both are full frame, both have quite high resolution. The performance of the 17-40 L, for example, is much superior when it comes to corner sharpness on CF cameras. Why? CF cameras take the centre... What applies to 5DC should apply to 5D2.

If you're saying that the f/1.8 50mm performs better on the 5DC than the 60D, then I can confirm plus chop tell you that if you are comparing the same copy, you must be imagining things... At least if you're talking about things like sharpness. Perhaps something akin to the placebo effect?

Actually I am just sharing my personal experience here. Not intending to prove anything.

You seems unhappy with what I have mentioned. If offended, I apologise :) I am not a pro, shooting as a hobby only, so I come from a hobbyist point of view.
