PS : If I had a grandson, he would've been your "uncle" night86mare's age. So, go figure what you want to call me :bsmilie:

Bro, you are too humble. You work is excellent. The only guru who commented here is night86mare. Can't speak for the rest, but me, I am newbie wannabe. ;)

And yes, this little one will go a long long way.

:dunno: no one is guru, or what...

everyone has feelings about photos, certain quirks... we're all here to learn from each other. what is more important is that we openly express what we think of each other's works without having to hide behind niceties... after all, comments on works, addresses the work. not your person.

Well said. Constructive criticism is always a good thing. As long as the one who provides comments and the one who receives it understand that the critique is on the work and not on the person. However, in this fast paced world where the attitude is "dog eat dog, man eat man and I, for one, will not be left behind. who the hell are you to tell me what is right and wrong..." leads to trouble - especially in a place like an internet forum where one can hide behind a computer and let out his/her frustration all in the name of constructive criticism.

Manita, sorry for the OT.

Let your beautiful photos do the talking now. I am thoroughly enjoying this thread. Its been a huge learning experience for me simply looking at your work. Well done...

Hi Manita. You were at Changi Boardwalk yesterday evening with your father right?..
You passed me by along the boardwalk at the Ferry Terminal :)

Hi Zul,
That was you?? Why you didnt call me? We have not met so I did not recognize you. Of course my Dad also dont know. Sorry about this. Next time please call me and I really hope to shoot together. Thanks:)
Yes I was there since 4.30pm and then I went to Changi Boardwalk to take some more shots. I also met Bro. Jacob there too.

Hello Uncle Asterixsg, Thanks for your comments and your encouragement. I understand and I need the C&C to improve. I try to shoot more when my Dad is free to take me around.During this school holiday, I also have my dance exams, my project shoot with Noise Singapore and extra lessons in school. so it will be very busy for me. But I will try my best to shoot more and compose more pictures. Thanks to you and all for their C&C.

Hello Uncle Night86mare, thanks.
I can tell you and everyone that I have no friends in photography who can help me or who really know about photography. The only person who help me is my Dad who brings me to places to shoot. After that, is for me to PP and post and writing all the replies. So I depend alot from you and the members to C&C for me to improve. Of course Mr. Google too.:)

Hi Manita, I see that you have been shooting quite a fair bit lately. Plenty of time since school holidays ya? :)

This is pretty good, though I think a B&W conversion would have been more ideal. I would have cloned out the horizon (which should be fairly easy in this instance), increase the contrast slightly and do some dodging to bring out slightly more details in the rocks. Just thinking out loud. :bsmilie:

Hello Bro. Alvin, Thanks for the C&C. Yes is school holiday but also very busy. Have my project shoot, dance class, dance exams, extra math and higher chinese learning class.:(

Is ok with your comments so I know what people think and also have different ideas to the picture I post. This is the way I will learn from everyone. Thanks and hope to see you again.;)

hi, i like this one as is, but perhaps you could consider tweaking the blue/cyan saturation a bit lower.. :)

just a small suggestion - the space on the left here between the leftmost rock and the frame edge, and the space on the right here, between the righmost rock and the frame edge - making it equal (or almost equal) can do wonders.

cheers.

Hello Uncle night86mare,
Wow.. you caught me!..:D When I process this, I did thought it was equal crop already to have a good composition. So now I learn that.:) Wow..
For saturation on blue/cyan, I will take note.

Cool ! Where's #74 taken at?
Hi Joel,
Thanks. This was taken at Punggol beach and was my first time there. Very interesting and many rocks there too. Only thing I dont like is the strong smell of the sea compare to Changi.:)
