#1 IMHO too much orange. #3 is good but I prefer not too blue. Keep shooting

...which of these do you like better, and why?
Hello Uncle night86mare,
thanks for visiting. I managed to get all the jpeg above 150kb. Thanks.
I like #1 because of the different types and character of the cloud formation. And also, the sun is just behind the cloud giving a very smooth reflection on the water that give this orange glow to the picture( I hate when the sun burn out the reflection). And I also think the lines are quite clean. But I also think composition can improve on this one too.:)

Congrats on having your own thread to post your images. It's a good way to gauge your progress as you go along. It's also a good way to get constructive criticisms and comments from the helpful seniors here.
You are doing very well from the images you have in here and I believe you are heading the right direction.
But always balance photography and your studies yes?. At this age, your emphasis is still to excel in your studies. It will help you greatly in pursuing your passion for photography in the long run :)
Having said that keep shooting beautiful images and enjoy photography as it should be.
Well done and keep it up Manita :)

just as a quick note, when you are shooting cloud + water alone, with no anchor element, the sky must be able to stand alone, i.e. it must be interesting enough.

some other brief comments:

1) keep an eye out on your color balance, too much green/cyan in the shadows/midtones from what i see in #5; definitely a very strong magenta cast in #9, #8 is a bit too yellow for my liking but that can be let go.

2) when the sun is present, try to keep it on the red/orange side. too much magenta is probably not so natural looking.

could you explain the thought process behind shooting #9? why you chose to frame how you chose to frame? having technicalities is a good base to build on, but you must be able to control your technical strength to output something that is palatable. therefore, composition has to go hand in hand with technique - try not to concentrate too much on either one to the point of sacrificing the other.

Hi Zul, Thanks.I think is time to start a thread on my own and can keep track of my pictures and see the progress. I really need the C&C for my improvement too. Yes my study is important also and need to work hard. Thanks for your encouragement.

Hi Manita,
Nice series. I like #7 best as I am a cloud person.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Clouds are useful to photographers as they show intricate natural patterns that add interest
and detail to the shot. There are Cirrus Clouds; Alto Clouds; Stratus Clouds and Cumulus Clouds.
Keep posting different types and colours of clouds.
Cheers.
