Is Carlsberg lighter than Heineken?? Somehow I get tipsy easier with H... Carlsberg... almost like drinking soda pop....

Weegk, have you considered getting two DSLR bodies fitted with different fast primes, or 1 fast prime with 1 wide zoom, or 1 wide fast prime with 1 medium zoom?

considering 2 bodies with 1 wide zoom/prime and 1 medium zoom actually . . . :D

i have the 10-24mm wide and so now looking for a medium zoom . . . .

my body will come next year hopefully . . .

Bro... can you next time try using f/2.8 instead? For testing purposes - f/2.8 vs f/4....

I think you might as well go for AF-S 300mm f/4 right?

aite i will if i have a model to shoot... hahahaha

nope, i never felt the need to get a 70-200 before, neither the 300 f4, coz i dont know when i will use it in daily routine, unless its for work than its a diff story lah...:)

Why are you poisoned by 85mm f/1.4 really? Are you going into portraiture? :)

Tok 11-16 f/2.8 would have been a better choice in your case... :) (personal opinion of course) medium zoom... urm... Nikkor doesn't have fast medium zoom other than 24-120 f/4 or 24-70mm f/2.8... unless you look at third parties?

I think VR I is good enough if you don't plan to move to FF... for me... I tend to go crazy with FF lenses (just in case strategy). Nope haven't used the VR I, guy to ask would be quizesilver - I think he has tried both - coz his friend owned both.

hmm  gotta step back and really consider both... still poisoning and detoxing myself :bsmilie:

anyways, not getting it so soon lah. but its still nice to dream  :bsmilie:

it has always been in the back of mind to get the 85 1.4 be it nikon or sigma for a very long time, i used to lug around the 70-200vr1 to take portraits... but i realize i never shoot more go over than FL of 100, and also i been in discussion with a few frens to go serious in weddings, and i always love portraits be it posed or candids...

Well, I understand if you use 50mm f/1.8 to use it as macro coz it's dirt cheap... However, 300 f/4 not exactly a cheapo lens leh... :bsmilie: what's the secondary usage besides macro?

Ask Pasay, he was the one who showed me a pro photographer using the 70-200 for portrait shoots. Actually, though very tight, it still allows you to get closer from afar... Head and upper shoulder shoot with good bokeh also. It depends on your angle and perspective of course. I think any fast prime / zoom is good as long as you know how to utilise the FL well...

actually that was a studio shoot with lots of tripods. but for weddings... but i have seen wedding photogs use a 70-200 on a 2nd body, with a medium zoom on another. maybe personal preference. :dunno:

I'm still looking for one fast prime... dilly-dallying these days. Although ZCA's range of f/1.8 are damn poisonous... I think I still haven't found my posion just yet... hence taking my time...
