Having Fun with Shooting Film

Sorry its not the shutter but the mirror when it goes up, it never goes down unless I advance the film then press the shutter again. Got confused with the terms. Only happens on the first shot though. The subsequent shots are ok.

My first roll of film on MX, didnt know anything about color-casting until i took film on this camera

Thought results quite jialat, but gave me the drive to try out more =) going to be an expensive journey

*oh pls pardon the dust, did my own scanning and cant seems to get rid of them....

(Thanks to FW for selling me the MX)

Nice results! Glad to see the camera in action already :)

I have just renewed my Ricoh lenses on the ME Super.
XR 28mm 2.8, XR 50mm F2, XR 50mm 1.7, XR 135mm 2.8, XR 200 F4.
Although these are cheap lenses, but these are getting hot again with K-x.

One particular lens the Ricoh 50mm 1.7 was the lens that I preferred over the Pentax M 50mm 1.7. Not sure I have posted the pictures before but here they are. Fujifilm 200.

These are from a Pentax outing to Pulau Ubin a long long long long time ago. Left the film unprocessed... until now!

It's a very good camera, one of those few award winning Pentax film cameras. It's like a perfect combination of traditional manual film camera and a modern auto film camera. It's more close to the much-sort-after MZ-3 than the MZ-5, actually it looks exactly the same as a MZ-3, other than the name tag.

As to the price, it can be anywhere between 120sgd to 200sgd depends on its condition.

Here are some photos I took w/ my MZ-5n during the last outing:

I moved from my first Pentax SLR the MZ-50 to Mz-5n. What a wonderful camera. A joy to use. It has all the functions that I would consider important for taking photos on film. Fully automatic for ease of use. Almost like a DSLR in terms of operation and functions except that the sensor is film.

I recall some MZ-5n is BnS a while ago. Look them up for prices.
I bought mine when it was new

thanks for the tips¬
i was considering mz-5n precisely because it's auto.. since i have no idea wat it takes to shoot film, especially those old ones where even metering have to be done manually

If you have higher budget, you can go for the LX or the MZ-S. The former uses only manual lens but it can be AV mode set at the lens apecture.
