All drugs have side effects. It depends on how serious they are. For some, the experience can be negligible. To others, it may not be felt at all as if nothing happened... Yet again, there is probably a minority few that felt it at full strength.. The thing is, you definitely need to know what the side effects are - doctors / nurses would let you know about them anyway. They can't not let you know.

What you need to think about is... side effects (possible only hor, not confirmed everyone will experience it) versus full set of intense, nerve-wrecking, (sometimes even longer) unbearable labour pain... You let your wife think about it and choose the lesser of two evils... Forget about "your mother dun have epi, if she can tahan, sure can you" bull crap lah... Back in those days, you think epidural exists already meh? If have, you think none of them will opt for it? Think very wisely and seriously... as it is no joking matter.

If one day, technology allows even male to go pregnant and then wife die-die want you to go through it... I want to see how many of you would be gung-ho as well... :bsmilie: For me no need to think one, Epi for me! :bsmilie:

Btw: I was beside my wife during delivery... even though she took epi and went smoothly... your ka will still go wobbly one! Because the experience is soooo special, you want to see suffering?

Note: my wife wants to share her experience your wives. For her, even during normal PMS cycle - she doesn't feel much one (this, the women should know better what she's trying to say)... when she took epi, she could still feel the sensation (not exactly pain, I can't describe it) during labour... For those who can get very cranky during normal PMS (as they are experiencing much discomfort) and then still don't opt for epi... just imaging that the labour pain is going to be much much more... This is her message, now up to you to decide...

If you are trying scare tactics... it's working! :bsmilie:

Well, your other half is always welcomed to try epi-free delivery if she wants to. :D Just take my words as bull-crap anyway... Btw, my wife's gynae is a pretty well known one in Singapore, office at Mount E as well - one of the best and oldest around. My wife did asked him regarding epidural... he just say one word... "recommended"... My wife guai guai listen to him (dun play play)... How to not trust one Singapore's oldest Gynae??? If you go visit him, his office ENTIRE WALL filled with baby photos on greeting cards and well wishes. I don't think my ten fingers and toes plus my wife's can even keep track of the exact number...

If you want recommendation for the best pediatrician, I know who to recommend as well, old guy too... Better hurry if you want both services - as they might retire anytime soon... Not cheap for both, but not outlandishly unaffordable - I think you can handle one...

P/S: we also have one distant relative who went through hell without epi... she also wanted last minute when she couldn't handle the pain anymore... but too late... just have to bite the bullet.

PP/S: keep in mind that labour (delivery) can last for about 2 to 3 hours... to maybe 12 hours or more for difficult labour... I am NOT exagerating - you are welcomed to check on this. If you're lucky, 2 to 3 hours, if not you wait long long...nevermind that, how about your wife?? NOT KIDDING OKAY!??

Glad you find it useful. Please do share with your wife. Not saying she will not be able to tahan the pain, but who can really say until she went through the entire process?

If you've found your pediatriation, good for you. If not I can pass you the info on who we've used. Both doctors, my wife and me very satisfied. :)

Edit: just wanna share coz DD123's wifey going to go through this now. It would not be too fair if I withhold what I already know and then say it after she went through everything. However, it is still entirely up to her.

Side effect = ?????? (not confirm will have, my wife good example)
Labour pain = !!!!!!!! (confirm 100% have one!)
You be the judge...

Not really. Like I said, it's (scare tactics) working already. Dun need (want) to bother trying without :bsmilie:

I take your word for it; didn't mean it as doubting you.
