Like what I said, fake or not we don't really know unless there is really some obvious differences. From what I see with my set and the original set, all I'm seeing now is factory defacts which are minor and only visible under close examination.
Of course, if I knew i was getting a "fake", I definitely won't be okay with paying $130. But since I've already bought it, no point crying over spill milk. Afterall like what I said, quality and workmanship wise is still there. We're afterall paying hundreds due to the branding effort that Crumpler has put into it's brand. That's the point I'm trying to drive across.
Hmm,$130 for a 'counterfeit bag' is expensive even if the quality and workmanship is gd.
Even if quality is gd then most it is worth at most 50-60% of the original one and definitely not the 87% of the original price.
If it is a 'fake' one then the hundreds that you are paying are obviously not going to the branding effort of crumpler but to some Vietnam or china factory owner and the seller who took advantage of the brand..If you tink it is just the quality over branding thing then you might be wrong here. If you are caught with fake product in europe, you can be fined. I read somewhere that a chinese tourist who has a fake adidas bag was caught and fined in europe.
Your 'no point crying over spill milk' apply to only yourself and those who have might have unfortunately brought it..There are still plenty of ways to resolve it (police, liasing with seller since seller might be a victim aso) and your 'no point crying over spill milk' method might not apply to all. Perharp the TS is not tactful enough in the wording but what he did helped raise awareness to potential buyers. Buyers might be more careful when they buy the bags and if they are willing to accept and believe the seller then that is of their own accord. Low post count does not nesscessarily mean that TS is not trustworthy. All he did was to try raise awareness,i don't see anything wrong with that. (Disclaimer: I do not have any relation with TS, just feel that his motive is good)
