all these talks will get us nowhere. is there a 'tan kin lian' out there can make it into a national issue?
write to the press, go to speaker corner, make our voices be heard.

actually this kopitiam is 100x better than speaker corners...

trust me.. :)

has the minister ever taken a bus, has mr ee and all those ivory tower guys ever tajen public transport???

errr.... when they do the test ride.. maybe lah... perhaps when the mrt first went live many years ago... Ong Teng Cheong took it (i rem him saying : " to say i am overjoyed is an understatement... )... not sure abt our MM Lee or his son...

i strongly feel that the transport minister should take public transport.... and take it frequently..

Do you think he will abandon his motorcade and take public transport everyday. It must be a joke! :bsmilie:

SMRT will have to shut down the entire train station while the Singapore Police Force (SPF) Security Command clears and cordon off the entire train for "security reasons" before the minister arrive. ;p

according to mr ee, the transfer folks were cross-subsidizing the direct trip folks. so now it's time for payback?

to the old folk who used to pay flat fare, he said. "but now you pay less when you travel short distance. to us who need to pay more, he say, "but now you pay less when you travel longer distance." WHAT KIND OF LOGIC IS THIS?

min of state says, "look at the big picture, more flexibility and travel options."

so now we have to plan our route, find a transfer that is shorter distant than direct journey and you will save.......

miw and wiw speak with same tongue.

They are all reading from the same script. If you ask them to quote an example, they will all give you the same model answers. Look at the dialogue session, nothing she said is new....

I'll leave this till the end of the month or when it reaches a 100 or more votes. Then I'll send an email to ST about it. No guarantees that it will be published but if ST can base a straw poll off 40 people in an MRT station and conclude that it is indeed helping 2/3s of the people then this should tell them something is wrong. There is another poll going on in HWZ as well.

I'm sure there will be a lot of such polls in other forums. This is to counter-check what our 'public' transport operators have said: ONLY 1 in 3 will pay more.

Looks like it's already online. I took this off the HWZ forums.

mr Ee is still talking nonsense. he still doesn't see the real issues in this new system. I do agree that the public transport in SG have improved over the years but it is still far behind the likes of Tokyo and HK.

When Taiwanese famous celebrity 李敖 said Singaporeans are all stupid, I was furious then. Now I know why. A lot of issues here are just talk, talk, talk, and after that, no actions.

I think we all need to do something to these unfair situations.

Any yet he still have a lot of supporters, siding him and said what he has done for NKF blar, blar, blar.

We're talking of different situations here. He now represents PTC, not NKF any more.

straits times is just a mouth piece of piw, pretend to published some stories of disgruntlement then follow-up with more stories of happy people.
mr ee and ms lim drive big cars and do not take public transport, easily said for them.

Just received gst offset, now they gonna take back bit by bit.. lol

every year is the same, remember last year when we received the GST offset on 1 July, the ERP price raised. In 1 day, they take back what was given..

For record, my fare increased by 2 cents. And there is something that bugs me for very long already.

i have been traveling from my work place to my home via 147 or 166 but the fare is not the same. last time the fare is based on number of bus stop so L.L. 147 passes by Chinatown point / Peoples park so there are more bus stop hence the fare is 90+ cent as compare to use 166, it travel along the New Bridge road side and the fare is 69 cents. In term of distance, i reckon the distance from start to end point should be the same. but still 147 cost more after the changes. 81 cents for the ride  WTF.. is this..

Also the bloody oil price is dropping based on the News. Why there are still a raise in fare price..shouldn't it be dropping instead..

Every year same thing happened again, excuses to increase fare and what can you do?
People at the TOP understand how us S'porean behalf.... at the end of the day, We will only stomached the unhappyiness and life still go on....

Strange. We have so many members here, and this thread has been viewed for more than 1500 times, and yet we have less than 100 votes? Is it because we have opened up the thread to show who has voted?

Brave up guys, and vote! If your fares really increased or decreased (daily or average weekly), what's there to be afraid of? Show them the truth!

They will tell you due to raising operational cost, they cant bring the price down

Then all the Singaporeans just listen & LL lor......
