WHy u still mention on paying. Did you agree to CSC offer in the first place.???

i have not reoffer to them yet . This is what am thinking ...

Pardon me but you ought to realize that things do not often work in the way of counter-offer and what not.

Did you agree to the $300 deal? (Although I've concluded that you had agreed to it, but its better that you answer it.)

Come out~~~ you are too soft..... From what i see, they are settling among themselves and are not bring up the matter to respective bosses. So just say you going to bring the issue to Case.

Lucky you didn't end your route yourself...so csc is rushing you into acceptance. Be firm wif your position... how much was the quote to repair you old lens btw?

the quote is 120

no have not .

If you have not made an offer to them, then I would suggest offering to pay for the original service (cleaning) cost (they must have a diagnostic before working on your lens to determine what type of servicing is needed - ask them to dig that out to determine the cost of servicing) in return for a new, equivalent lens.

You sent your lens to CSC for servicing to get back a functional 75-300 lens. You were willing to pay the price for the servicing/cleaning to get it. You did not send the lens to them in order to pay extra for a functional 75-300 lens. Make that clear to them.

There's a great deal of difference between the one that jimchan sent in and the 70-300mm w/ USM which is either the typical IS or DO IS.

And indeed, its the service/cleaning charges that jimchan needs to pay.

if sg canon doesnt help, send it to US canon. Still doesnt help.. FB them...
go down insist to speak with the manager, tell them dont waste ur time.

if only 1 broken len take 1/2 or 1 day to solve than someone take his 5d or 7d for servicing and have this kind of shitting problem does it take 1/2 mth or 1 mth to solve.

Totally not effective on customer service at all. Tell them that worldwide not only canon is selling camara. Nikon, Fuji and more others brand is waiting for u to purchase them.

SO TS, it is 70-300 or 75-300?
These 2 lens have huge difference in value.

I send my 75 to 300 to cannon and they broke mine and tell me to get a new lens from them at 300 dollar for the 75 to 300 III USM . Do you think is worth ?

Stated in his first post.

If indeed you do have to pay for the replacement lens, please confirm the warranty status of this replacement lens.

I REALLY HATE to say good things on Canon behalf ...... but hey, you have to admit that they were honest and forthcoming with you about damaging your lens while repairing it.

If this was what happened, I applaud CSC for honesty.

They could have easily told you that your own wear and tear caused the lens to become like this and their arse luck that the jalopy broke when they touched it .... after all, its a 5 year old item and who knows what hell you've been putting it through etc etc ..... but they did not give you any of this kind of BS

Look, I advise against taking the extreme stand ..... appreciate that honesty and go middle of road instead ..... offer $100+ (dont know what you OK with) for a BRAND new lens replacement w/warranty (or maybe half or 1/3 or 1/4 of what a brand new lens outside costs) ...... which, I hope you agree, is still a whole lot better than a 5 year old cleaned up older lens
