Bad experience with Pgs on step ladders

Pardon my ignorance but i've seen many fashion shows on TVs and even their photogs are shooting at ground level

They are usually hired to shoot the show and are told about the do's and don't's.......

I suppose we can always approach them and inform them that they are blocking the views of people behind him/her. If that person concerned still do not move, I guess just give the ladder a hard kick (hard enough for that person on the ladder to fall off) and walk off

I am sure those people whose view were blocked will appreciate your action

And to those who use ladder, please show some consideration to others. Don't give phototgraphers a bad name.

i feel if they are official ptg then nothing to say but if its aint the case, yea its abit selfish to deprive people behind..

When i walk by one of these "runways displays" i am always amused to find the majority of the audience, most of whom are "unfashionably dressed and groomed" ogling at the stage.

yes i'm sure there are some considerate ones around. I've seen a couple during my Chingay shoot on step ladders and they were behind the crowd with their big guns !

Chingay is like a national event(?) Probably there's some control by the authorities and that such inconsiderate behavior that will cause inconvenience to the general public will be monitored or controlled?

Fashion shows are mostly private events.. and it's up to the organizer to do what is "right"

Hope that we do not have to get to such extend that eventually the event organiser may over-restrict the pgs.

Well, all they have to do is to Ban ladder within x distance from the stage and all is solved and everyone is happy. No one will bother with LGs at the back right..

Should be "On ladder must stand behind".

Hi all ! I'm a newbie in photography. I would like to share an unpleasant experience i had over the wknd. I was at Vivo City on Sunday hoping to capture some shots of the bridal gowns fashion show. I was there sort of like abt 45 mins before the show. To my surprise, when i reached the stage, it was already full of photogs ( like 3 rows thick ). Well so i tell myself next time for events like these must come earlier.

The irritating thing is i see 4 or 5 pgs right in the second row standing on their step ladders right smack in the centre of the stage. All of them seemed like lao jiaos and were all using zooms. I was lucky enough to squeeze in the 3rd row by the side. As the time draws near...more pgs came and i could see all of them showing disappointment on their faces and many were shaking their heads at the group on step ladders. Can you imagine that almost the whole centre part from the stage is completely blocked by that inconsiderate group! As a pg, i feel pai seh cos when i turn bk i could see those true audiences some with their kids on their shoulders and some with their PnS all trying so hard to catch a glimpse but was denied a better view bcos of the rows of pgs in front and worst of all on step ladders!

Perhaps i may be wrong but i shud think that pgs shud use step ladders only at the rear of the audience. I didnt take much shots due to inaccessability but mostly bcos i felt lousy. For a moment...i felt so embarrassed at being a pg joining the squeezing in the front. Bcos of this incident, i've told myself that i will not put myself in these situation again.

I'm just curious if anyone has had experience like this before???

ya nowadays i also noticed the ladder gang 'chop' the place right in front of the stage already. last time they used to stand at the back. quite inconsiderate i would say, since it blocks pple at the back. oh and now those plastic folderable toy stools are in already, no more heavy ladder.

someone should stomp the LG and SPH should do a follow up story ... this is after all selfish behavior especially if you occupy the front and block everyone else.
