EN-EL3e.. Made in China? or Fake

I've checked my D700, its nattery is made in Japan.
In the Nikon dealer shop in China, I did saw the "Made in China" version. Maybe those are only supplied to China local market as a replacement accessory. Somebody is right, the real imitation one will marked with "Made in Japan". The "professional" copiers are good at marketing, they do know which marking can make more money.

It is absolutely not fake, because there is more than 2 Nikon's plants in China.

Maybe the Joker work day shift at Nikon plant and night shift at his back yard plant. - LOL

thanks all for this fake Nikon battery topic.

since this thread started in aug2008, original Nikon EN-EL3 batteriy has morphed in looks quite a bit from those pictures shown at this link :

clearly, as per nikon website, it is suggested that "made in china" is one way of detecting fake nikon batteries.

but now that a fellow CSer has suggested that Nikon has China factories, is this "made in China" labelling still a valid way of detecting fakes? :dunno:

Why isnt fake it should fake all the way just print it make in Japan i think that not diffecult to do that to them. why print make in china? Remember i bought my car rockford woofer print make in USA that fake ,the real product now is make in China or thailand HA HA...Should print make it china..

I bought mine online maybe 6months for SG$20?
The sticker says HiPPo Pack 7.4V 1500mAh FOR NIKON EN-EL3/3a/e

No problems with it, can't complain for the price!

I have 2 of each of these types of EN-EL3e (so total I've got 4 batteries). Two of them has died, and upon closer inspection, both of them which died are the type on the left... Could they be fake?

I have one of each ... and I have actually brought them down to NSC when I had my routine cleaning service some time back and "they" ascertain that they were both "different batches" but originals.

Left & right are originals.
The left is older batch & right is newer batch.

Hello. And Bye.

Nowadays almost everything is "Made in China"

Both of my EN-EL3e batteries for my D80 were made in Japan.

Both my batteries are as per the photo above. Both were bought from local photo shops. Both seem to be working fine.

Hopefully, like it's been mentioned, that the one on the left is simply just an older batch. At first I was quite skeptical as the Nikon logo did seem correct, that it was printed just slightly thinner in terms of the width of the white line of the NIKON word than the battery one the right.

You should add a screenshots that make it easy to identify

surely it doesn't mean that Made in China is equal to low quality, in fact i like my clothes bought in China.
Well, you cant really expect quality from Made In China goods :bsmilie:
