Hi everyone,
I currently have both my work related photographs as well as personal photographs in one computer under one Lightroom catalog. All the photographs are now on external drives.
I've set up another computer and I wish to split the existing catalog into two, one for work one for personal stuff. On top of this, I'm going to format the existing drive to install windows7.
I was wondering what's the proper way to split the current catalog into 2? Can I just export the catalog without exporting the master copies (since they are on external drives), and then import this catalog file into the fresh copies of lightroom and redirect the files to the appropriate folders?
I just wanted to be sure as the loss of the catalog will be just a huge disaster!
Thanks!
Ervine
