i do not know it they have been doing it for 100s yrs, but this action isnt encouraging.
they kill dolphins becos they are another kind of whales...
way of killing them is 1 part. covering this is another. giving away free lunchbox with dolphin meat is another matter. there are alot of wrong-doing over this.

well you can wait for their kids to suffer brain damage first which is a slow process over the years...then their parents will sue for compensation, and it truly open up the can of worms in japan.
they already got cases in the past where children are born deformed with mercury poisoning from industrial areas and yet they don't learn from their mistakes...

Yup.
I think humans should eat humans too, or let other animals eat us up... not joking here... Just becos we have better cognitive knowledge, able to control other species or even dominate other species and make us the dominant species/king of the species on earth doesn't really gives us the rights to kill other species.
So back to square one... should we offer ourselves as food when we pass on? Or should we only feed on other animals after they pass on? Its a matter of survival. Which boils back to the same question... what makes you think your life is more precious than theirs?
We humans are such a waste, when we die, we don't even offer ourselves as food, energy, or even essential substance of life for other living things. All we do is waste more precious energy and space by cremation and wasting land for burial and such...

i read it somewhere that they kill the dolphins because these dolphins consumed too much of the fishes which the fishermen catch. hence, making their earnings dropped. so, to stabilize the the fish population, the dolphin population is controlled.

actually...we do offer our bodies to others when we die.....to the real ruler of Earth...insects.
true, currently we don consciously offer ourself to others for food, or allow ourself to be eaten, and it is true that our live is no more important than theirs, BUT consider this, we humans are omnivorous animal, a high level one granted (this is debatable), but an animal nevertheless, and speaking as a species, we eat other species. just as carnivorous lions eat antelopes and deers (should we stop the savage lions from eating the delightfully cheerful and beautiful deer?) and herbivorous elephants eats sugarcanes. all this morality considerations comes in purely as a human invention and thus, it takes some getting used to to be applied to mother nature...yes?
and speaking of letting the animals eat us, we have been eaten before, by lions and saber tooth tigers, by remnants of the dinosaurs even if u will...when? many many millenias ago when we still cant tell peace from piss (even now i'm not so sure we do either...sadly).
insects, no... nowadays coffins are 'insect' proof... or cremated, put in a nice jar...
and eaten by lions and sabretooth tigers... like abit too far fetch... so now its revenge? Like last time fisherman go swim in sea, kena eaten by sharks, now eat sharkfins to avenge them?
