Hi, Cser..a very newbies question here... I hv a very Old nikon sb-27 flash, and would like to use it on a Canon 450D... do u think it is workable? As when I try it out..... the flash can trigger... but sometime overexpose....too bright...am not too use to using a flash, not sure Is it my setting problem or what.... pls help..:D

If you use a Nikon (or any other brand flash that doesn't support Canon's E-TTL) then you will have to manually set flash brightness and all that. Same thing if you mount a Canon Speedlite on a Nikon body.

Yup... Though they share the same hotshoe, they're not fully compatible. Each camera maker still adds their own method of data transmission.

only the model with A mode can work with canon or other brand, it is simple, you turn the mode to A, set the ISO and F number same as your camera, and the rest leave to flash to adjust the power.

im using SB28, 28DX, 26, 80, 80DX, 800 and 900 in Canon Bodies, be CAREFUL!!!...... you might turn in to the dark side....:):)

Using in 8fps compare with canon flash with nikon flash, what i can say canon flash is far beyond Nikon. Btw im using Canon and Nikon Camera.

It is workable but juz that u need to adjust manually for the output to suit ur camera settings. One disadvantage is that it is not easy to use as a bounce light. I was using this combo for my 20D till i got fed up & got myself a EX 580. So anyone wanna buy my SB 27? hee hee :bsmilie:

Or perhaps I shall jump ship bk to Nikon camp ... D700 with SB-900 drooling...
