Hi there,

I'm planning a little meetup for newbies.
Location: McDonalds@UOB Boat Quay (nearest MRT station is Raffles)
Date: Nov 16 (Sunday)
Time: 9:30am
Agenda: Just meetup and chat a bit, maybe afterwards roam boat quay up to clark quay for some practice shooting.

pretty interesting. if nothing on, should be able to come down.

most likely bringing light gear.

**If rain, can get pointers on how to shoot raindrops.
 

Hi all,

The main objective is to meetup. If it rains, we can still shoot mcdonalds food? Or shoot from under the shelter and maybe try HDR on overcast and rainy clouds? But it often rains in the afternoon than in the morning though.

As for gears, we just pack light but no limit what you guys wanna bring. I will bring my D70, 2 lens (1 zoom for scouting and snapshots, and 85mm for sharper colors and macro with my closep filters), and finally my flash. My gears are on the cheap and functional side so I don't really have much. I might bring tripod i feel like doing so that day (at the moment its 50/50 for me to bring a tripod).
 

dawgbyte, you arranging for just CS people? Or getting the other ppl from SGC as well?
 

Hmm.. forgot about sgc.. i will check with them although no one there seems to be keen when I mentioned meetup. :)
 

Quit SGC, so I dunno the new culture there.

I am quite keen. But not sure if I am able to make it. Keep you updated.

No worries mate. Let me know then. No pressure. SGC is same culture.. whining about bf,gf,parents,sisters,brothers,classmates,stomp,weather,... makes me happy my rabbit dont talk. I just stick to photography part there because they are not too focused on perfect pictures. Sometimes that is a breath of fresh air. ;).
 

Would be good if I can make it. Just gotten a D40. Need to shoot more and learn.

You are welcome to join. Camera brand is not that impt. I just mentioned mine because someone asked and because I will bring cable and flash, so those who are using nikon can try off-axis flash, or other stuff that I have, if they want to. Anyway, let me know then.

I also got something on so the latest for me is around 2pm... but it doesn't mean everyone has to go home as well.. its free and easy so duration is up to how long you can or want to stay.

Actually ah.. where else will we be roaming to from there?
I was thinking of wringing out some good shots at Haw Par Villa leh.
Would you guys wanna consider meeting and then wandering around HPV?
It's really rustic now.. very good for some Black & Whites.
What say you all??;)

Shooting at HPV sounds like a great idea. But I think we have confirmed Boat Quay for 16 Nov. I PM dawgbyte77 to say I will be there. But I am game for anything, any place. Just simply like to get to know fellow shooters, chat and practise my photography. Perhaps, HPV can be our 2nd outing.

Don't know what the hell I gotten, been having a low grade fever since yesterday afternoon. :confused:
I think I SHOULD recover way before Sunday... I hope. :(
