does it occur to you after organised phootshoot always the same faces rotating around the section? not that i am blaming anyone as we are all entitled to post our photos.. but I think the section be nicer with much more variety with different people. perhaps the photography circle here really is small :D

I always love seeing some new photos of children, elderly etc. seeing too many similar pretty faces with the same poses and all kinda gets bored after awhile

what do you guys think?

me no objection..as long as they are pretty..why not let them appear always :bsmilie:

Why don't you go shoot some children and elderly, and post them on CS ... starting a trend?

well, i am in the process and yet to pp them :D. i do see child and elderly at times but what i mean is even models are the same faces. like u know we are rotating models and all..

people are generally adverse to posting up pictures of their own family, for valid reasons , that i'm sure you're aware of.

the last time someone revealed his friendster account, he got mocked by many errant members, and nothing was done (even though i felt it constituted as a personal attack) because frankly speaking, it was his naivety that got him into that situation.

as for street portraits in singapore, it is usually posted in streets & candids because the crowd in p&p are looking for something else. this category, if they venture into P&P, usually will either get zero attention or too much attention.

It is a crime that certain popular models get more chances to have their pictures posted? What's wrong if photographers prefer to shoot certain people over others?

I work with the same few people, who models for me, all the time. Is there any problem with that? I shoot in styles I enjoy, and I shoot those styles a lot. Is it a problem?

According to your original post, it is. And you are misguided.

Photographers can shoot whatever they feel like it. If you like to shoot children and elderly, be my guess, eagerly awaiting your posts.

i didnt say anything about being a crime or what so ever i just asked if the general public thoughts on one photoshoot and it's full of the same models.

somehow you just enjoy throwing your weight around like you're always right. It's ok to be straight forward but pls be more considerate towards others feelings and there is no need for such harsh tones here. It's a photo forum where peope of similar interest not some war zone. I don't see why is it hard for you to reply in an amiable way than with so much anger inside!!

Hehe... =D

Good idea, but the point is 'shoot what you like to shoot' lor. Photography is a hobby for most of us. If we are not enjoying it, then there is no point, right? Then why take up the hobby? It is the same case like some people here look down on people who shoot event models or shoot xmms, but to many people it is all about personal enjoyment. Why do we shoot? Not because we want to be a pro photographer. It is to unwind ourselves from the bloody work week. It is not wrong to enjoy things pretty. Anyway, we don't really always photograph chio bus, you know. I also have a lot of street portraits unprocessed. It is just that I don't post that much now.

true but those are portraits too? I get your point on this. well, Maybe it's crude but put it this way. portraits and poses are for beautiful people? somehow it doesn't seem right. i dunno leh.. just a thought and i thought i share but it's more like a war zone now :dunno:

CS needs a section for glamour and nude like other forums. That is a separate genre from portraits. If you realise, non-glamour posts in PP here are not really well-received.

As for same old faces, it's probably the groupshoots.

CS is an open forum. people post wad they like, if u find there is too many threads on beeautiful (female) people. by all means surf other photography forums for ur yearning for a more varied 'diet'.

i do think some will defend their (me included) craft passionately here, afterall photography is (largely) about passion. dun let barbed :embrass: comments get u down. i can be liddat sometimes oso.

as to the tone of replies read

link: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=421813
for a more in depth understanding to reponses u r getting.

its 'suay' u post this thread when the storm has not died down yet.

post less, shoot (pics) more. :)

ah i seen that. Again people wil say he/she can say or post what they want. I am not against pretty people or anything just maybe what you said a proper diet. Like how one bro mentioned that portraits not so glamourous are not well received.

well.. just a thought i thought i share and find out more views. Not trying to start any war here :p

for many, there is ONLY black and white, no moderate ground.

my suggestion is to lock the thread, you only encourage more wars.

what is the big deal about that?

macro and close up also have the same subjects
so do landscape and travel and nature.

what about IR and night photography?
I think that we should all just sit back and enjoy what we like and skip what we don't like to see.

one man's meat is after all another man's poison

In my opinion, I look at photography objectively. I see models as subjects. It does not matter if my subjects look the same. The objective is to practice and learn. Doesn't matter if my subjects are pretty or ugly.

Try to see an image as a photographic presentation and not only looking at the main subject. See the image as a whole. Maybe that will disperse your attention evenly throughout the entire image.

If I were you, I will not bother to start a thread like this. I do not mean to offend you (if I did, I am sorry), I deem this topic as "very boh liao". I will not start a boh liao thread inviting other boh liaos writing boh liao replies to boh liao questions... Well... Having said that, I myself had also just became a boh liao... Ha ha ha ha. :)
