Just remain calm. Adjust your seat to a comfortable position so that your leg is not too bent in the half clutch position. Despite what people say about testers, how evil they are, how they will pick on you, it's not true. If you are able to demonstrate your ability, they will pass you. Like in my case, all the demerit points awarded to me were justified, I know I made those mistakes and just have myself to blame for not being proficient enough on the road. My circuit is a clean record. ;p
Yup, the best is just remain calm, take it as if it's another driving lesson though this time round the 'instructor' is not going to guide at all, just give directional instruction. So, take it more or less like you are carrying a passenger in your car and you are driving as if you are already a licenced driver.
Even when and if you make a mistake, don't panic nor worry too much whether will you fail or not, or how many marks deducted, just keep your mind focus on the driving and drive safely. Cause the moment if you are too concern about your marks, your concentration on the road will surely be affected and then it's likely you'll make more mistakes.
Yes, I agree not all testers will be that mean and some are actually quite friendly and don't pressure or hurry you unnecessarily.
Most of all, just remember one basic simple rule, be polite, be confident, and never argue with the tester.
Even you just pass the driving test, you still need sometimes to overcome the road fear and familarise the car control and singapore road system. Just be careful next time and do not commit the same mistakes. BTW, driving can make people impatience. So be cool at all time.

wah...i always got problem in circuit...both test kanna 10 points when go onto the road...both strike kerb...sian...
I think he refers to when turning out to go on the road.
This usually happens when one turn slightly early. He is 'fortunate' to get only 10 points, cause usually, once hit kerb is an immediate failure already.
BTW, after got my licence and whenever I drive on the road now, I still will hit the kerb once in a while, especially when turning at unfamiliar places. Hehe... :bsmilie:

ya. i agree that have to keep calm. there's much to get angry abt even in a L-plate car.
there was once i was turning right into a major road. i was in the 3rd lane with another right turning lane beside me. den while turning this honda stream cut into my lane. :thumbsd: luckily i jam brake and stall the car. if not sure hit and spoil my day. :sweat: my instructor keep telling me to calm down and say is not my fault. after i got the car going, both of us were cursing the honda.
btw, if i stall the car, do i need to shift to neutral then restart car (as stipulated in theory) or can i just leave it in gear with clutch in and restart? leave in gear restart faster, but will tester dock points?

When you are still learning, or taking your test, it's better to follow the books, neutral your gear before re-start. Engine stall don't equal to immediate failure, so no worries.
But after you got your licence, and do experienced engine stall once a while, like I do (driving a manual car), I just step on my brake and continue to engage my first gear and re-start, then move off quickly before some impatience driving horn at me. Haha...
I get different response from different instructors.. Some told me I'll need to neutral then restart, some told me don't waste time, just need to clutch in and restart.
No lah.. Mount kerb then immediate failure.. strike kerb just some demerit points.
Neutral to restart is safest way instructed by the booked, just clutch in and re-start is realistic practical in real driving after you get your licence.
Anyway, many new drivers will immediately throw away what they had learn about safe driving during their lessons and started to drive recklessly. I had seen P plated drivers zig zagging between cars at high speed, all without signalling, some without turning on headlight at night (and they cars were black!), cutting lane, impatience towards slow moving heavy vehicles, tailgating etc etc..
oh...the directional change one...first test strike left side when going in...second test strike right on going out...wah lao...what can be worst then that...
If you're too close to the kerb on either side, then you should have done correction first? :dunno: Mine so far no problem. I use the kerb markings for my sighting point.
