ALONSO WELCOMES TORRES

Xabi Alonso is excited at the prospect of the 'brilliant' Fernando Torres linking up with him at Liverpool.

Liverpool are widely believed to be on the verge of clinching a club record deal for the Atletico Madrid hit-man.

Atletico are thought to have accepted an offer for Torres with Luis Garcia going in the opposite direction as a sweetener.

Reports have suggested Torres has cut short his holiday to travel to Merseyside to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with Liverpool on Tuesday.

Alonso has welcomed Liverpool's move for his fellow Spaniard and he believes he will be a major success in England if he does complete his switch to Anfield.

"It would be fantastic if Torres is bought by Liverpool because he is a brilliant player," Alonso told Marca.

"We are going to see what happens in the end, but it is clear that it would be good for us to have him.

"He has already demonstrated his enormous quality and to have him in the team would be brilliant."

ya... they were once...

1). Blackburn fans.
2). then they switch to Newcastle becos it led the table once by 12points!
3). then they switch to manutd becos they won the league.
4). then they switch to Arsenal when they stun the EPL with ARSE Wanker as the gaffer.
5). recently they convert to Chel$ki and as far as intelligence gathered shows, they are staying as Chel$ki fans for the time being.

hahahaha

About TORRES

Technical Skills

Torres is a quick, skilful, powerful centre forward, who is unlike most Spanish strikers. He is often compared to Nicolas Anelka and Thierry Henry. Above all he is a goal scorer. He can lead the attack on his own, but is also adept at working with a partner. He is good in the air and scores goals from many areas.

However, Luis Aragonés, the Spain head coach, said recently that Torres “still has a poor first touch and doesn’t finish well.” Despite fitting the profile other major clubs are looking for, he has often been second on many lists of potential targets for major European clubs.

But Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has been determined I his pursuit of the player this summer.

Torres mania is going to start soon....

Chel$ki may not even want him:bsmilie:

maybe!!! :bsmilie: chel$ki jus wanna make it difficult for us to sign the players we want so they test water abit and sound him out. then when he show interest, chel$ki wayang and slowly take their time then they finally pull the plug and say they were never interested in that player.

then by now, LIverpool wouldn't want him as MoneyLai's heart is dubious and suspicious.:thumbsd:

 he jus wanna tag team with terry to nail a 150k per week deal. true.

he is offered 131k a week and he turn it down. Romantic Abba is upset that he has not signed yet and is worried of losing his influential midfielder. so he proposed to do a deal with both terry and lamps, in a bid to convince them both that they are the true blue in the team.
