Satay don't like to be grilled lah. :bsmilie:
sheesh, i ought to find a way to change my nick. maybe like "bjoiefw", so cannot make fun. is that possible, admin?
Satay don't like to be grilled lah. :bsmilie:
nope. it's not dun understand. is that they tend to be less interested into technical stuffs, making it hard to see if they make good photographers.
don't grill how to eat? eat it raw? yucks, since when satay takes the form of sushi also? :ipuke:
Well, you're young so I shall be abit less acid tongued. Firstly, it's very easy to get along with ppl even like eiks: Just be yourself and if you want to engage in an intellectual debate, THINK before you post. If there is reason I don't see why you would end up in cross hairs.
Search wikipedia, politics. I haven't googled it, but it may help you survive better.
Why do you say?
Though a picture is silence, it always seems trying to tell me something.
Go to Sendai. They got Satay Sushi Train there.
To Satay 16, I read what you wrote in response to my question before you deleted it.
You answered: "a photographer who knows how to operate a camera".
My question was what makes for a good photograph.
If you are able to understand that, then you will know the role of technical knowledge in the making of a good photograph.
Are "MEN" more visual den women? i don't think so. Are men better photographers? I don't agree..look at how much crap we produce..(myself included)
Men who tend to fall in love through looks only mean they are shallow
Does women crave for attention, i don't agree.
Women like to be in front of the camera. Thats a BOLD & Dangerous statement.
Women are in front of our camera cos we either ask them or pay them (and they agree). Models are in front of the camera cos its part of an assignment. Your female friends are in front of the camera cos they trust ur skills to produces good pics of them (note, they are interested in the picture, instead of being in front of the camera) Your other half becomes ur subject cos they want to spend time with u and indulge in ur interests together even they don't understand the nuts and bolts of photography.
Who said one needs a SLR to take pics? If not why would one need the strength to carry one?
Who said curves makes a picture more interesting? If so, does it mean u view women as a visual object?
Having made such a statement n u claim innocent?
one word.... SEXIST... period (i hope this thread get locks up, as it does not show respect to our female members...so what if u are a "MEN"..doesn't mean anything at all)
PS: No wonder women always say that men do not listen or they do not understand.. If u are interested to know..i'm a guy too.. abit a less shallow one!
How come there are some photographers letting their GFs or wives carry their camera bags, tripods and drinking water for them?
Here are a couple of female photographers I admire...
Ami Vitale
Natalie Behring
I really don't think the sex of a person makes one a better photographer. There's some pretty crappy male photogs out there, just take a look in the CS gallery threads, plenty of examples that aren't too hard to find. I do however find the most male photogs have a much bigger ego than their female counterparts.
well, as a lady i think female fotogs have their pros and cons in this field thats y i never regret entering!!! =)
Nice topic to get ppl involve to communicate...
=P
eh satay16? (sorry, don't mean to flame ya dude but its worth a look)
You know why I put up this topic?
We had a big fight recently, over which camera to buy.
I wanted a SLR, and she wanted the slimmest PnS. She is the one who told me SLR too heavy and complicated. By the way, those are the two reasons why I wanted a SLR. Being a gentleman, I burnt my pocket, I ended up buying both DSLR and the lightest PnS.
I shoot her with a SLR and she shoots me with PnS. Despite the entire cross shooting, we are very happy.
Now if you say girls don't like to be in front of the camera, I will shoot you in the face.
You know, when I say lets do some casual shoot, she will be the first one to reach for the closet and the dressing table. Me, messy hair, half naked with a boxer. She pretty like a doll.
That is why, I say ladies are better subject, with colorful make up and all those wonderful hairdos and matching dresses. The ladies I come across will naturally pose for the camera, no need to teach or tell them one.:bsmilie: They know how to twist here, turn there, keep this, expose that. So I will say ladies are camera best friend, not all but also not very few.
Next, let's talk about curves. If I give you a box with four wheels, will you want to drive it?
You know I once started a war, when I say Men are better drivers and women are even better drivers because they can drive a man up the wall. This statement is sexist, and I have refrain from making such statement.:nono:even I feel it is very true, sometimes.
Maybe at the end of the discussion, we come to realise that men and women are built and engineered differently, each gender has its specific tasks. So we will not make meaningless statement like, why girls do not need to serve NS, and Boys have to. You want equal treatment hor then serve NS lah.
Guy, do you agree that it is man's duty to protect our girls and family?
If the answer is yes, can I call you a male chauvinist for thinking so? Why not let the girls do the job?
