This is the Zeiss 50mm f1.4 ZS or M42 screw mount. M42 allows you to adapt to many different platform. I use them on Canon and Sigma cameras. IMO, Zeiss ZS is easier to use if you are adapting to Canon as there is the auto/manual lever which can switch between wide open for focusing and stopped down for taking at the aperture set.
The optics are clean. The aperture clicks at each stop and half stops. The focusing is firm yet smooth.
For those who likes Zeiss but didn't want to spend for the native mount can consider this.
