Originally bought my lens 2 years ago, but dropped it.
Sent it into nikon service centre.
They replaced the ENTIRE unit + gave me 6 mths extra warrenty.
Since I have started using a D3 with FX lenses this year, I have never even TOUCHED this lens.
Only items not replaced are lens cap and lens hood.
but willing to give 50 dollars off.
