Why is the world not at peace?

really? tell that to millions of people died on tsunami, earthquake, tornado, etc.
why? they're dead!....unless they've been recycled and come back to earth again......

There is a different between sharing of knowledge on appropriate topics and
the intention of having tricky religious discussion.
In the latter, the what, how, where, and why including the either good and
bad preference are cried out in dismay to the dead end.
The adopted stance can lead to wrath, killing, slaughter, war and continuous
flaming even in cyber space.
Let me give you an example. A detail comparison of the many ancient writings -
lets take the Koran and the Bible in this discussion
where specific topics like "anger" "punish", "mercy", "love", "hatred",
"forgiveness", "insult", rebellious", torture and so on
cannot be termed as religious discussion.
Where can we learn all these differences? Not often in the classrooms
but fortunately in a forum where people can share whole heartedly in a
more civic and sincere manner can be very beneficial for our well
being to be a more mature person.

darn, even some parents like to ask who the kid loves more, papa or mama.
True to say that there are folks refusing to learn
because of their ego and pride. Have met many of
such people in my life time in the work place as well
as in some educational institutions.
Why people are not peaceful?
The inability to connect to the Ultimate Reality
Having no tranquillity in the human heart
Inability to have clarity in the human mind.
How to make the heart to be cool and contented?
The absence of desires, anxieties, wandering thoughts
and even passions.
(This is very difficult indeed for modern human
beings living in this fast and materialistic world)
The lack of faith and easily being a victim of anxiety.
Inability to remain undisturbed by currents
waves, happenings and even war fare in cyberspace.
The lack of suitable knowledge on how to break down
walls of hostility between people.
Efforts to build calmness, coolness of thinking when
dealing with fellow human beings.
Fortunately there are people who are blessed with
inner peace. Usually they have the skills to
reconcile conflict and take on the role of peacemakers.
However people can also acquire this ability
through prolong well guided training.

agree - give out TVs plus satellite - 100 more channels of mind boggling rubbish to burn a day out on!
give out more junk food as well so that we cannot move off the sofa. Less people on the streets.....more peace?
You have good points as mentioned above. To say in one word, it's man's greed
that has brought his downfall. He wants to conquer so that he can keep everything
to himself.
When given a choice, man will have different preference. Some like it black, some
like it red while some like it yellow. But the choice can be influenced by current
trend. For example, black cars are not in fashion since the late 1960s. Forty years
later black cars are back in fashion again.
