Ok, few reasons (our machine 2 years old):
1. Seem the cost more ex for canon.
2. When scanning if paper jam, need to rescan the whole stack of docs
3. Color print not so good
Erm ok, muz clarify abit.... I used to come from the industry...
Yes, Canon & Xerox are indeed more expensive than their competitors. But what I can say is u r paying for quality. Minolta, sharp, toshiba and etc, trust me, dun expect them to produce as good quality printouts than their competitors. Sharp n toshiba are targeting basically photocopying shops where low cost is the key. Minolta is a good mix between price n quality for small businesses.
Canon is very strong in their B&W, Xerox on the other hand is very strong in their colour segment. But Canon is catching up very quickly on the colour segment. Ricoh is oso coming up strong.
As for the two machines u r using, I believe they are not engineered for excellent colour reproduction capabilities.
If u really would like excellent colour printouts, try their C1+, IIRC, its abt 40k or more. But its colour printouts are seriously good. Juz abit short of offset quality. Even in the industry, unless u r very experience, it could be a little tricky to tell the diff....
If budget constraint, try the IRC6880I or IRC5870I, its meant more as a high end colour machine.
Whole stack! Woah, usually your whole stack is how thick? BTW, by scanning u mean scan then email to ur email acc right?
But 2 years old machine.... U finish financing already or not? If haven might be a little expensive to make the switch....
