Which camera to get?

Hi guys, I haven't been keeping up with the camera market recently. Would like to find out, which is the best camera out there I can get for a budget of $500?

ard 500....an A75 or A80 perhaps??

i am looking for an all purpose camera, best is good value for money...
is the A80 available for below 500 now?

any other cameras are good other then the canon A series?

for the same price range....perhaps can consider the coolpix series....3700 / 5700 second hand should be ard ya budget i tink...
