What actually are you trying to determine?

Does the shutter have a limitation as for how many times it's been fired before it break down (For this case, DSLR)?

And if a Canon DSLR (D30/60) reach the stage where the shutter no longer usable, how much to get it repair at Canon?

Replacing the shutter cost $172.60 at Canon Singapore (of which $120 was for labour - inclusive of general servicing). Should last for 30000 shots (quite a lot if you dun shoot for living)

Anyone knows whether how's the situation about PNS, consumer DigiCam, prosumer DigiCam? How would one check how aged are those cam and what variable to look for? is it the number of images taken so far? So far, I've got more than 3600 shots on my Nikon CP5700... not sure if it's considered nearing the end of the lifespan. Will probably costs a lot to fix those cams coz of their closed design.
