kindly explain in layman terms. thanks

sometime u see a picture, only a particular object is in focus and sharp and clear rite?, then the background become like water, all mix and jumble and blur rite?

the blurring of the background is bokeh..

bokeh is the blurness of the backgroup or parts of the picture that's not in focus.

generally lens with larger aperture gives better bokeh, but it depends on the lens model as well.

from what i know 200 F2 and 85 1.4 are among the best in nikon lenses, 70-200VR is very nice too.

a blur bg isn't bokeh..

bokeh is about the QUALITY of the blur (more accurately, the out of focus areas).. regardless of aperture size

anyway read those links posted, next time do a search first.
