Hi, i'm looking for a printer to print mainly child photo of 5"-8" photo (must be easy to use). Price range is within S$500-600. Any brand & model?

Looking at canon but can be others brand too.

p/s; Photo paper n link must be easy to find.

Thx a lot

computer fair coming soon. bring along a pix and get demo print from exhibiting brands there. if getting ink jet, get individual ink cartridges model.

Consider the Epson L800 and L1800. Good print quality.
But Epson has a tendency to clot, so use if at least once a fortnight

Canon has run a few "trade-ins" recently and PRO-10 can be had for less than 500 and PRO-1 for a little over 600. Both use pigment inks.

If you are not in a hurry to get it, you can probably wait for the next event, which may or may not happen.

If you are looking for lower per-page cost, you can consider the Epson models mentioned by Castor Troy. They run on large ink bottles instead of tiny cartridges and the cost is substantially lower. However, they use dye inks so the print longevity may not reach those of PRO-1 and PRO-10.

I am using PRO-100 (cheaper than PRO-10, dye-based) on Image Specialists inks sold by Precision Colors. The advantage over Epson is it probably wouldn't clot and the inclusion of grey inks make printing on slow-drying papers better (no pooling). The downside is the longevity must be poorer. Precision Colors also sell pigment inks for PRO-10, which may be a good balance between cost and print longevity.

I have the Epson L300, also the ink-tank model. However, the ink that Epson uses for their ink tank models are not their usual DuraBrite. They're not waterproof and not as vibrant... and as I realized recently, the prints fade after some time! A bit disappointed but guess it's okay for the very cheap price.

I will tend to avoid inkjet printer, if you do not print often. If you don't mind 4R/postcard size, I will suggest you to go for Dye-Sublimation printer.

Anyone know what printers and photo paper photographer use at events where they print small photos for guests ?
