Hi. if i am taking a macro shot and i want the aperture to be at f/16, i am using a 2x teleconverter, what should the setting on the lens be? at f/8 (since there will be a 2x factor) or at f/16?

please enlighten me asap.....thank you !

if the 2x doesnt elctronically report the resultant aperture back to cam body, then setting f8 on the lens apertre ring means u r actually going for f16.

if the 2x does report the actual resultant aperture back to the cam body..then when u turn the aperture ring to f8, on the body lcd panel u will see f16..ie u r still going for f16

Hieee..

When using the teleconverter.....
1.4x will result in light loss of about 1 stop
and 2x will result in light loss about 2 stops....

For teleconverters that reports, the actual multiplied value...then you dont need to worry .....if it doesn't then you need to compensate with the respective stops values..

rgds,
me

If it's the Kenko teleconvertors you are asking about, they don't seem to report the actual aperture value (based on what I've read around the forums). It seems that only the Nikon TC's will report the actual aperture value with Nikon bodies.
