Too many questions to respond one by one.

Going commercial is the only way to run the forum. We (members) cannot expect they (admin) to be out of pocket supporting this forum for ever. I do not have any problem that CS is getting more and more business minded. How they are doing it, I may or may not agree, but that is not the point of discussion here.

I don't feel CS has gone worse, nor did it get any better. It's the same old forum with an ever changing cast of character, and with that different posts and opinion. For those that lasted here for a while, such changes may be seen as a bit uncomfortable. Changes are always uncomfortable to some extent.

The forum is getting a bit complicated, too many subforums. There is a simple solution. I just hide all the catagories I am not interested in.

Flamebait. Well, regardless of commercial or not, simple or not, or whatever, as long as the forum is open to the public, there will be flamebait. Cie la vie.
