what does the 'N' in Hoya HMC UV(N) filter mean?

I have a 49mm Hoya HMC UV(N) filter. What does the (N) mean?

I think it's to denote the coating.....but cannot be sure of it. Read it a long time ago and found many denotation of these characters, but I find this the most plausible.

There are 3 different UV from HOYA - UV(C), UV(N) & UV(0).
AFAIK, UV(N) has been marketed in Asia only because it has inferior glass quality, and much cheaper than UV(0).
UV(0) uses the same high quality glass as other high quality filters.
The UV(C) is for compact when using with wide angle lenses.
All are available in HMC, and the situation is confusing.

Not sure what N means, but like what fmeeran mentioned, it's for the asia market and inferior to the HMC UV(0) which was reviewed to be better than B+W by lenstip - http://www.lenstip.com/113.4-article-UV_filters_test_Description_of_the_results_and_summary.html

the UV(C) replaces the UV(0)[now no longer produced] and was said to be optically identical to the UV(0) but slimmer.
