Hi,

I am thinking of getting a circular polariser for my sigma 10-20 lens (on my 350D body). I understand that because of the ultra wide angle, I need to use a slim filter in order to avoid vignetting? Does that mean for hoya, i need to get the Ultra thin or Pro 1 series?

Also, what is the difference betw a B+W 77mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer Glass Filter Slim & B+W 77mm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter Slim?

Thank you!

The B+W Kaesemann filter is sealed around the edges. IE, the polarizing foils that do their job are sandwhiched between two layers of glass and can be suseptable to moisture. The Kaesemann version protects them.

However, I would suggest that if you are really into B+W, go for the MRC version. It's a newer version and the MRC coating is completely separate and is B+W's latest high scratch resistant coating. Easy to clean too!

Sorry, but I have not tried the Hoya series.
