Water Drops Attempt, Critique Please

I tried my first water drop shots with Canon 450D, kit lens.

1/200s, F11, iso 100, camera flash


Are these settings ok? Any way I can make them look better? Thx

Probably just me, the red color makes it a little hard to appreciate the shape and details on the water drop. But it's still nice to look at.

not sure what did you use as your light source.. but it's positioned not too well.. and reflecting into your camera..
