Well, you never know what terrorists might come up with. There officers are just doing their job. How do they know your intentions?

But I also agree the security officers are sometimes brainless in the sense. They never watch the tourists. Most probably they do not want to bother the tourists- Later tourists angry. And you know, tourism is quite a significant revenue in Singapore.
