Hi, need advice on whether it is a good idea to use a Sigma Super EF500 or ST 500 flash on a canon EOS300V body (or EOS300). I heard there is a DG version out, not sure if it is available.

Alan Photo quoted $320 on the phone, may not be their best price. ST 500 is cheaper, at about .. $190 or so.

Just afraid of compatibility problems, especially with future Canon models. Even 420/550EX has minor compatibility problems?

That's new? So what was old?

Thanks Tony K for the informative reply without the laughing smileys ....

After using the flash for a series of shots, it appears not to fire for a while. Is that heat build-up? Does it refuse to fire without any warning? Turning it off and on solves the problem.
