It's a "good to have" since this can save you some money or trouble to have your problem fixed once in awhile. It depends on you whether this is really necessary or not because it also depend on how well you take care of your camera to ensure no dust gets in I supposed. Please bear in mind that such features do not give full 100% guarantee but at least for most problem it can be fixed by it.
