Just wondering what are the types of photographers on this forum and what's the percentage like?

PS. These words may not be the right words to describe you as a photographer but you get the point!

Casual - Shoot for the pure enjoyment (Family, friends, school, work)

Amateur - Have participated in photo events, more interested than casual but have not done a paid gig.

Enthusiast- Have done 1/2/a few paid photography gigs

Semi-Pro - earns a small percentage of income from photography regularly

Pro - Photography is the primary source of income

Why need to do a few paid jobs to be an enthusiast?

Sorry if I offended you but I was just looking for a word for the options. I know an enthusiast is someone who just loves photography whether or not he/she has done paid events etc. The long explanation is more accurate!

There should be another category: Photographic Artist. There are those, like me, who doesn't shoot for any commercial bearing. We make art through photography.

Consider "too free" alot of free time on hand haha.strictly speaking I think most of us use our mobile phone camera to take pictures every day :)

You didn't offended me just curious .. I know of ppl who like to keep their hobby pure and not want to be paid for their effort. Reason being once they get paid for it, stress set in and they enjoy it less I guess.

Not really too free, just trying to pursue my hobby. And also I seldom use my HP to take photos unless it is a moment I wanted and do not have a camera with me.

what about gearheads? And subcategories too. Example, an accidental gearhead, didn't start out as 1 but stumble and fumble thru the years picking up cameras, lenses, filters, accessories etc
