Traveling to Ho Chi Minh

Read some old threads which mentioned that CSer's had problems with hand carrying DSLRs and camera equipment. Some custom officers at HCM airport on home-bound flights (back to Spore) wanted them to check in their DSLR and tripods. Wonder if this is still true nowadays. Anyone want to share their experience? thanks.

I am a frequent traveller to HCMC, I never encounter such things...

was there 2 mths back.
no problem.
except for ex-SIN, wanted to check my tripod because of allan key inside.

Was there afew months back and been there twice. Never had any problems.
