Huh? Are you kidding me? The difference between 190PROB and 330DX is just 400g leh....

experienced travellers will tell you everything adds. it makes a difference between 15kg and 10kg overall, or 6kg and 2kg on the run.

Yes, 330DX is much lighter than the 190PROB.
I was comparing the 2 at cathay and ended up getting the 330DX for its weight.
I changed the pan/tilt head to a lighter ball head and the setup felt so much lighter.
A little short for me though.
But it's a good choice for a travel tripod.
Got it for $120 from Cathay late last year.

Hmmm....

190PROB + 486RC2 = 2.36Kg
330DX + 486RC2 = ??

Slik tripods have a 1/4-20 thread screw.. you probably need to get a thread adapter screw to 3/8" so that manfrotto / giottos / benro heads can be used..

with that,
330DX is 1.57kg with head
340DX is 1.58kg with head

not sure how heavy is the head though..

Why not consider Benro CF M-058 + BH-0 also?
Weight 1.12kg + 0.31, Can handle 4kg load
max ht 142cm & Folded length 47.5cm only...

Eh... my budget is less than $200... possible? CF type is way beyond my budget.

That's why I need you guys to recommend me with my budget. ;p

Slik Sprint Pro GM. Well within your budget (~$88 for tripod and ball head) and is sufficient to hold your equipment. Ball head not the best, but it should be more than sufficient for travel (assuming you use the tripod ~10-15% of the time only).

Hmm... interesting no one mention Benro. :dunno:

heavy tripod is good. take steady photos and when not doing that, build up ur muscles..no need to go to gym lah!;)

easir said than done i'm afraid -- pls carry a 4kg tripod set up, walk one round through jurong bird park with your gear in midday sun, then come back and tell us your experience. i can tell you mine, in a nutshell >>

i thought a couple of ppl is talking abt it above. the main strength of this brand is that it is well-marketed.

 meaning... no good points? Only well-marketed? Cannot be lah.

Thanks all for all the recommendation.

Just gotten the Benro A158 and KS-0 from Jack. ;p

Eh... I think it's about 1.8KG. But sure feels much lighter compared to my Manfrotto setup.

And I like the built and design too.

I think Jack still has stock... grab it... I got a discount from him because of 'A la carte' combi. Free delivery somemore...

How heavy is the setup man

hope you are happy with whichever brands of tripod you have got.

Just thought it'd be good to update here for those looking for lightweight tripods. I just got the following combo at CP :

Gitzo GT0530 - 0.72Kg
Mamiya Ball Head - 0.16kg
Total - 0.88kg, Max load 5kg

Total damage $680

i dun understand your post. so do you use a wooden tripod that costs less than S$34 and think it is more worthwhile?
