Too much 'swimwear' photography recently?

Already tried that 11 years ago. Photos had to be developed by photo labs in the past and therefore cannot be too daring. Once I sent some negatives for reprints in some neighbourhood lab, the shop staff refused, saying that they do not print such photos.
Now with digital, don't have to worry about developing worries. Alas, I have no one to model for me since then.

Actually whenever we guys take pictures of girls, we usually cause a stir among our female population. People like our mother, sisters, gf, wife, friends or perhaps, teachers get upset when the subject inside the picture happens not to be them. For some reasons, when we guys take pictures of girls, it must be we are harbouring some lustful thoughts. If we guys were to take bikinis or nudes, we are probably condamned among the females. Perhaps only a woman's nagging can be more powerful than the urge to take pretty girls' pictures.....ha ha.
even with only bra and panties, therr is always a room for lingeria photography. What's wrong with that ??
model with bra/swimsuit, I dun see them as porn photos. Even the model is naked, there can be nudity photography...not necessary porn photo (or sexually related).

haha... why take bikini and such shots ? haha.. i think nice formal girls looks very nice le.... as long as u understand and know fashion, anything can be nice... haha.... :lovegrin: girls are fine lahz... just that i think those shots that u guys made doesnt interest me... (really, and manz, i am a guy lor) haha.. wat really counts is the real beauty being expressed in dressing. Wearing lesser doesnt make a picture nicer... lolz..

Very brave of pianodancer to actually voice it out. Honestly, yes, there has been been an increase of such pictures, with women clad in bikinis and although some may be tastefully done, it is getting boring.
Prime example; Look @ Timber/Evildolly. Same model. Different outfits/themes/concepts. It's refreshing to see that both of them actually trying out new ideas.
I don't see them posting shots after shots after shots of evildolly in bikini, or Timber shooting her clad only in bikini all the time, under the pretension that he is trying to "learn" photography.
Now, what about Jazer? The Stardust shoot was something that he can be very proud of.
For those who are more established, try to move on. In terms of styling, in terms of ideas and outfits. There is no point flogging a dead horse. A bikini shoot after another, which is then followed by another, differentiated only by the model posing in them, as well as the color/cutting of the bikini hardly makes a big difference and lets be really honest... You want to build a portfolio? I am quite sure for quite a few of us here already have enough bikini shots to fill an entire portfolio already...
If the model is wearing a dress and a bikini, do you learn more when you shoot her in one outfit or the other? For those who insist that by shooting the subject in a two piece bikini will allow you to learn how to pose the model better, then i can only be really brutally honest and tell you that you, as a photographer, will not amount to much.
Maybe you would like to be remembered in a certain way. Mention XXXXX and more likely then not, someone will go, "Oh! You mean that guy who always attend bikini shoots?" In fact, without naming names, i can recall vividly this individual talking about how dirty old men go about taking pictures of women and yet, now, the same person is happily participating in bikini shoots and having a whale of a time. How ironic....
If all you want is to take pictures of women in bikini and that is the only reason why you invested so much of your money in the gear in doing so, then good for you. You will have an entire collection of women in bikinis and nothing else to show for it. Do not have any illusions that you are actually learning and practising. You are not. All you are doing is taking snaps of women in a two piece swim wear and getting to ogle at time at the same time.
For those who understood what i am trying to get at, go think and mentally explore yourself and stretch your imagination a little bit. You know for a fact you can do so much more and so much better.
You have shared some of your works which were truly good even when the model was dressed up. So why pigeonhole yourself?

This is human bad habit wa... If see sameone have it, u also wan it. u see ppl buy camera u also wan a better camera. u see ppl ahve a longer lens, u also wan to own a super long lens. :bsmilie:
